When my family moved to Charleston WV in the 80’s (yes, I was around 4 years old) Sara’s family was one of the first families we met. We were neighbor’s with Sara’s family before she was born. I grew up playing basketball with Sara’s brother, attending church with their family and living within a couple miles of them the majority of my life. When Sara contacted me to shoot her wedding I was ecstatic. I knew they would be a fun group to spend a wedding day with and because I have known them so long I knew it would be a very special day. Not only was Sara’s family present but so was my own Mom & Dad. For the first time ever my parents got to see me doing what I do at weddings… which did make me just a bit nervous!
And a funny side story… Sara REALLY wanted outside photos but the church where the ceremony & reception was held had NO WHERE close by to get outdoor photos and their timeline for the day was very limited. After a few minutes of crunching our minds together we found an open spot in the parking lot and shot some pseudo-urban shots.
