Happy 4 month birthday monkey!
You may have noticed that your 3 month letter is missing. Mommy promises that I was not a slacker, but life did happen. And trust me, as you get older you will learn that life happens a lot! So far in 2014 there have been many snow storms, a water crisis and your first sickness. And during all this insanity I learned something very important: It’s the little things that mean the most.
You will never remember yourself at this age or the little things that we share. You will never remember when you first learned to grab toys and mommy ran out to buy you an absurd amount of Disney Hallmark Itty Bittys so you would have plenty of friends for playtime. You will never remember grabbing mommy’s hand when you nurse or the adorable little smile you give after you’ve nursed and fallen asleep. Or how Mommy & Daddy sat up listening to you breathe when your cough was bad to make sure you were okay. And these are only a few of the little things you’ll never remember that have completed Mommy & Daddy’s life because of you.
It has taken me until the age of 31 and becoming your mommy to learn to appreciate the little things in life. Don’t let it take you that long, baby girl. Life will become stressful and busy, and there will be times you’ll wish you were older/wiser/in a different stage of your life but at those moments you should look around and appreciate the little things. The little things will happen so quickly you’ll sometimes not realize how important they are… but they are the things that will shape who you are and be the memories you never want to forget.
