There are two kinds of people when it comes to being diagnosed with a medical condition: those who let it define them and those who kick it in the teeth and live life despite the condition. Kristen falls into the second category. She was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic at a young age and fights the disease daily while refusing to let it get her down. In school she takes all honors classes, is member of the Capital High School Dance Company and she is her school mascot. After school she is a lifeguard, teaches swim lessons and a camp counselor at Kamp Kno Koma, a camp for Type 1 Diabetics. She is absolutely rocking at life and not letting diabetes stop her at all! After graduating with the Class of 2016 she plans on packing up her beloved puppy, Suds, and heading to college with emphasis on the medical field.
