If the old tale is true and rain on your wedding day is good luck then Amber & Jason have been blessed with enough luck to last them a lifetime and possibly longer. Amber and I had talked multiple times about the gorgeous venue she booked for her wedding day and the amazing photography opportunities it would give us. We even planned to start photos well in advance of the ceremony (hours early!) to get tons of amazing shots of her, her groom, their children, bridal party and family. We were ready and had a plan… until the rain hit.
As soon as my second shooter & I pulled into the parking lot the rain began to fall. Then the weather warnings started to ding on our phones. It was obvious that our gorgeous sunny day we hoped for was quickly going down the drain. (Did you like my little rain joke there? Ha! I’m cheesy!) We quickly designed a new plan for their wedding day that included shooting bride & groom portraits between rain showers, and my second shooter holding an umbrella over my beloved (and brand new) camera and myself while I shot formals of the bride, groom & friends/family in front of the chapel. We were able to work with the rain, instead of against it, and I like to think that Amber & Jason now have quite the stock of good luck built up for their lifetime together.
